Merge PDF
Combine two or more PDF files into a single document, in the order you pick.
Merged PDF ready.
How it works
This tool combines the pages of several PDF files into a single document, in the order you add them. It uses the pdf-lib library running in your browser, so your files are processed and merged without ever being sent to a server — you can merge contracts, invoices or medical results without a copy landing on anyone else's infrastructure.
How to merge PDFs
Drop two or more PDFs into the box (they're added in the order you select them), press Merge, and download the combined file. To change the order before merging, remove a file from the list and re-add it where you want — the final document follows the list order from top to bottom.
When merging comes in handy
Job applications. Many recruiters want one file: CV, cover letter and references. Merge them instead of sending three attachments that can get separated in an inbox.
Scanning in batches. Flatbed scanners and phone scanning apps often force you to scan a multi-page document in several passes. Merge the passes back into one clean file.
Expense reports and accounting. Combine a dozen receipts or invoices into a single PDF numbered chronologically — much easier for an accountant to process than a folder of loose files.
Portfolios and bids. Assemble a proposal, its annexes and certificates into one document with a consistent page flow.
Does merging affect quality or file size?
No. Pages are copied byte-for-byte into the new document — no re-compression, no re-encoding, no quality loss. The merged file is roughly the sum of its parts, so if the result is too heavy to email, run it through our Compress PDF tool afterwards.
Tips for clean results
If the merged document needs to stay under a portal's size limit, compress it after merging. If you need only some pages from one of the files — say, pages 3–5 of a long report — extract them first with our Split PDF tool, then merge the extract. And if pages come out rotated the wrong way, our Rotate PDF tool fixes that in one click.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the order after adding files?
Remove and re-add files in the order you want — the list follows the order you dropped or selected them in.
Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?
No fixed limit, but merging many large files will take longer since it all runs on your device.
Does merging affect PDF quality?
No — pages are copied as-is, with no re-compression or quality loss.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
Not while it stays protected. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then merge.
Do bookmarks and links survive the merge?
Page content and internal links are preserved, but document-level bookmarks from the original files are not carried over to the merged document.
Can I merge files that aren't PDFs?
No — the tool only accepts PDF files. Non-PDF documents in a dropped batch are filtered out, so combine your files as PDFs first, then merge them here.
